Make-up right with Cozzette vegan brushes

Cozzette Inc. introduced a new collection of vegan makeup brushes. The Divinity Collection offers an alternative to traditional sable brushes with tools that contain no animal fur, fiber or byproducts. The Divinity Collection relies upon a range of the soft, durable synthetic fibers and adheres to high ethical and professional standards.

Created by Roque Cozzette, the artistic director for Kett Cosmetics, the Collection also offers a protective container, Cozzette Vessels. The versatile containers protect brushes, organize cosmetics like lip liners, mascara and lip glosses, and keep disposable tools like mascara wands, cotton swabs and spatulas sanitary. When empty, vessels are the perfect place to mix liquid pigments or thoroughly clean brushes.

The Divinity Collection brushes are finished with 100 percent renewable-resource solid wood handles dipped in purple lacquer. Cozzette Vessels are made of durable PVC and are available in 4, 7.5, 8 or 9-inch sizes.

Bill Clinton Goes Vegetarian & Dairy Free. For Reals.

I know everyone is sick of hearing about Chelsea Clinton and her very vegan wedding by now, but this is too good not to talk about.

Former President Bill Clinton (aka The Hotness), has gone vegetarian — at least that’s the word on the street.

According to People magazine’s Sandra Sobieraj Westfall, Billy C. dropped some poundage for Chelsea’s wedding by going on a “vegetarian, no dairy diet.”!

Did it work? Hellz to they yes. All in all, the former President dropped a whopping twenty pounds for the big day.

Let’s hope Bill keeps up the plant-eating, planet-pleasing diet.

BEAUTY SPOTLIGHT: Ginger + Liz Vampy Vegan Nail Varnish

Ginger + Liz Colour Collection is the new buzzworthy brand of organic and vegan friendly nail lacquer with a growing legion of fashionista and celebrity fans alike. Ginger + Liz was created by model/author S. Liz Pickett and entrepreneur H. Ginger Johnson. Ginger and Liz have a decade of individually unique experiences in the fashion, beauty, and marketing industries that coupled with their insatiable love for fashion and beauty led to the development of the Ginger + Liz Colour Collection.

Just a year after its inception, Ginger + Liz appears to have taken the cosmetics industry by storm.  Most people don’t give much thought to vegan and organic nail polish, except to assume that the lacquer probably chips really quickly. All those chemicals traditional polishes contain must be necessary for a reason, right? Boy, was is that wrong!  The colors in this collection are in your face bright & sunny and don’t chip for days.

Mike Tyson changes to a vegan diet and loses 130lbs.

Mike Tyson had changed his life in some pretty big ways, including going vegan. Well, the famous boxer continues to preach about his new lifestyle, and recently sat down with ESPN to share the secret to his 130 pound weight loss:

“I became a vegan,” says Tyson. “Vegan is where no animal products. No livestock products. Nothing. I just did a lot of training and try to become more faithful in life. I wanted a different life. I felt like I was dying. I had an incident in life where I lost my 4 year old daughter in a tragic accident at home. I don’t know. I didn’t want to live anymore. So I said, that in order to go there, I had to change my life. I am going to change everything I dislike about myself. I changed everything that I was as a human being. I started that journey in October or November. … I don’t smoke anymore. I wanted to give up everything. I had to change my life. I didn’t have a problem with drugs or nothing. I had a problem with thinking. My thinking was broken. That was the solution of my broken thinking using drugs and living crazy. It was just the way I was thinking.”

Tyson has been vegan for a year now.

Sistah Vegan: black female vegans speak on food, identity, health, and society

There is a tradition in the African-American community (and some others) known as “Testifying.” When you have found the answer, you are expected to share it with the community - to tell the story of your personal journey from faithless to faithful, from sick to healed or from oppression to freedom.

In her book, “Sistah Vegan,” A. Breeze Harper collects a series of articles by black women about their journeys - having switched to a plant-based diet. Most of them are first-person testimonies; all of them make great food for thought.
